How to Apply for a Bus Pass

TUSD has revised the application process for student bus passes for the 2023-2024 school year. In order to simplify the process, families will now complete a digital application to request a bus pass. The digital bus pass process will be completed by filling out a Transportation Request Survey response. To complete the Transportation Request Survey please click here.

In alignment with state requirements, priority for bus passes will be given to students in grades transitional kindergarten (TK) through grade 6 and to students who reside in a socio-economically disadvantaged household. To assist in identifying students residing in low-income households, questions regarding household size and annual income are embedded in the survey. Once prioritized passes are granted based on grades TK-6 and income, additional passes will be issued in order of the date and time the completed surveys are received. Survey responses that are complete by July 19, 2023, will be used to give priority to students enrolled in TK through grade 6 and to students identified as residing in socio-economically disadvantaged households.

The Transportation Survey will remain open until August 18, 2023. However, any available seats that remain after July 19, 2023, will be assigned on a first come first served basis based on the date and time the Transportation Survey was completed and submitted. When your survey and child’s bus pass application has been processed, you will receive an email from the TUSD Transportation Department notifying you that your child’s bus pass is ready to be picked up from the TUSD Transportation Department located at, 401 East H Street, Tehachapi, Ca, 93561. The Transportation Department can be contacted at (661) 822-2115 if you have questions. Please be on the lookout for the ParentSquare message on June 30, 2023, with the link to participate in the TUSD Transportation Request Survey, so that you can participate in the bus pass application process. If you need assistance completing the Transportation Request Survey to apply for a bus pass, please contact the TUSD District Office at (661) 822-2100 and staff will be happy to assist you.
